Salary Range CG FH: $12.45 – $18.32/hour
12 months, 100% time
Job Responsibilities: Serve as the morning shift supervisor; oversee the morning milking crew and train student employees, as well as assist in the maintenance of the overall appearance of the farm; and assist in the daily chores associated with the care of the research animals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of: Procedures and techniques required at a dairy research facility; farming equipment such as tractors and skid loaders; safety requirements for working with or around research animals and equipment; supervisory techniques and practices; and computer software applications.
Ability to: Supervise, train and schedule student employees; maintain SOP compliance; maintain parlor to meet all state and federal regulations; operate equipment such as a tractor and skid loader; perform maintenance and repair of milking parlor equipment; assist with all vaccinations and treatments; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds; and communicate clearly and concisely.
Required License: Valid driver’s license is required.
Comments: May work an occasional weekend or holiday. Experience working with dairy cattle is essential. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
