This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

Daktronics maintains a leading edge network located in the Information Technology and Systems (IT) group to support the company. We have over 2600 networked desktop and laptop computers and 250 networked printers, copy, fax, or scan devices. Infrastructure includes over 400 Cisco switches and wireless access points 1800 Cisco IP phones and several room based video conferencing endpoints. Computer and device support for our employees is a priority. This position is responsible for working on the IT help desk as a student.

In this position you will be expected to:

Setup and configure network work stations or laptops. (can be a new employee setup, upgrade or break/fix system; also could be a new or a used/warranty system)
Install and maintain devices such as telephones and multifunction printers. In addition, install various software packages and assist in software upgrade projects as needed.
Accurately track assets in our asset database and document work completed.
Assist with documentation of hardware/software procedures and common tasks.
Become knowledgeable on Daktronics network systems.
Competently represent Daktronics to internal customers. Use good judgment and make good decisions. Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures.
Work effectively as a team member and assist when and where needed.
Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner. Inspect own work. Quickly learn new tasks. Accurately and consistently complete repetitive tasks.
Organize maintain and clean personal and shared work areas.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.
Regularly and reliably work established schedule.

The ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, networking or related degree and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered.  Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and desire to accept responsibility and take initiative.
Ability to learn the technical skills required providing effective service to our users.
Ability to lift push/pull or carry objects and equipment weighing up to 60lbs.
Fluent in English both written and verbal.
Background check may be conducted.
