At Daktronics, you will put your degree to the test using cutting edge technology to trouble shoot and test production code for high-end video processing used by real customers. As a Software Intern, you will write code to enhance existing Daktronics software components by adding features or tracking down and fixing bugs. You will actively engage in business transactions and experience the satisfaction of knowing that something that wasn’t working yesterday is working for our customer today because of your software solutions and problem solving skills. And sometimes, you will even see your work on national television!
Internship runs January 2017 through August 2017.
As a Daktronics intern, you will get an opportunity to shadow an experienced Daktronics engineer and apply classroom knowledge in the following areas:
Develop, debug, and maintain software applications using Microsoft Visual Studio.
Develop and support software applications using the C# and C++ software development languages.
Perform code maintenance on existing software products.
Work within a development team to solve problems.
Write unit tests for existing code.
Work effectively as a team member.
Work with little supervision.
Communicate effectively with team members.
Help when and where needed and make suggestions for product/process improvement.
Complete quality work in a timely manner.
Assist in the development of software product requirements and design documentation.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Undergraduate student in junior or senior year of their Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or related field.
Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this internship.
Required to take a semester off of coursework. The duration of the internship will be January 9th, 2017 to August 11th, 2017. Work through the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at your accredited university and Faculty Coordinator to arrange for credit while participating in this 7-month internship.
Object oriented programming knowledge is required. Knowledge of C++, C#, or Java preferred, but other object oriented languages are acceptable.

Required GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
