Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.
The student Transportation Business Unit Project Coordinator will assist the Project Coordinator with the project management process. Student will be involved in all aspects of the project flow including scheduling design, production, shipping, installation and project close.
Assist Project Coordinators with different aspects of contract orders such as:Run reports to meet project milestones and requirements.
Check on assembly progress in the plant and verify that progress meets project goals.
Become knowledgeable of computer reports and scheduling process.
Call vendors and verify delivery times of special order parts.
Collect, package and ship parts to job sites as needed.
Review Bill of Materials to verify all items have been shipped after substantial completion of the project.
Coordination of in-house project tasks including; project accounting, purchasing requisition, manufacturing/product throughput, shipping, and management feedback.
Assistance with generating and monitoring project schedules.
Reschedule contracts to optimize efficiency of work orders through manufacturing plant including delivery of quick turn work orders.
Maintain subcontractors’ database, insurance certificates, and lien waivers as required.
Gather information for new vendors.
Complete project close out on contracts. Help enter and verify quote order summaries.
Will learn Master Production Scheduling and Inventory Control.
Work with little supervision. Complete quality work in a timely manner. Communicate effectively. Work as an effective team member.
Perform other projects and duties as needed to meet customer expectations.
Regularly and reliably work scheduled hours.
Educational requirements: The ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Consumer Affairs, Global Studies, Advertising, Entrepreneurial Studies, Mathematics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
Daktronics experience/knowledge preferred or other relevant project experience.
Basic computer skills software programs include Glovia, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional; telephone skills.
Fluent in English, written and verbal.
