The South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time, 12-month Laboratory Support Specialist. This individual will be responsible for the coordination and preparation of the Medical Laboratory Science program teaching laboratories and support other laboratory services for the College of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities include the coordination of laboratory services such as supply management, maintenance, reagent preparation, and laboratory supervision (under the direction of a faculty member), as well as biohazard disposal and laboratory information system programming and set-up.
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology completed by beginning date of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology/Microbiology, or related field completed by beginning date of employment.
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification as an MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP).
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory work experience or teaching/laboratory preparation in a related discipline.
Commensurate with qualifications.
