Experienced leader for $1.65 billion global organization providing high-technology software, hardware, and consulting solutions to higher education, K-12, and corporate markets.

Manager, Client Operations – Transact Operations (May-September 2013)

Operations team reorganized into Client Support and Services. Time and revenue forecast reports for consulting projects using PowerPivot and SQL Server Management Studio. Client support system responsibilities added to team including assignment of customer support desk tickets.

Senior Manager, Operations – Transact Business Operations (December 2009-April 2013)

Promotion increasing scope of oversight for quote-to-cash process and systems. Initial deployments and enhancements for multiple new enterprise systems, including Salesforce and BigMachines (now Oracle CPQ) configure/price/quote SaaS cloud solutions, process integration with newly-outsourced manufacturing facility. Operationalized multiple new and complex suppliers and product lines into pre-sales, quote, order and fulfillment processes. Sales bookings revenue in Q2 of 2013 exceeded $11M for line of business. Manager, Sales Operations – Sales (2007–2009)

Sales Assistant – Reporting to Vice President of Sales in Salt Lake City. All administrative support functions for remote sales executives in Western and Central U.S. regions, onboarding and coordinating departmental work for three regional assistants, sales liaison to other teams within company. Worked with Amex marketing team on rebranded literature and direction of new product positioning.

The Transact platform of Blackboard Inc. came about through mergers and acquisitions over a number of years. I began working for Special Teams, Inc. in Brookings in 1992, starting among a small staff of about 20. STI became a well-known for its innovations and excellent service to its clients, experienced substantial growth, and was accordingly recognized on the Inc. 500 fastest-growing private companies for two years. STI was wholly acquired by American Express in 1995 (becoming AEST, a subsidiary of Amex) to enhance their closed- and open-loop commerce systems development and increase their presence in higher education. The Special Teams group was purchased in 1997 by College Enterprises, Inc. / iCollege to complement their own University copy center and course packet offerings. In 2000, Blackboard acquired Special Teams from CEI and their competitor, AT&T’s CampusWide group, and merged them together into the Commerce LOB (later renamed Transact). I was asked and agreed to relocate to the Phoenix office in 2001 to continue my career with Blackboard. As a young, private, ambitious company, Blackboard experienced rapid growth along with constant reorganization internally on the way to its successful $77 million IPO with its public listing on the Nasdaq in June 2004. Blackboard continued to grow exponentially as a public company with many additional acquisitions and was ultimately wholly acquired in 2011 by a private equity group through a $1.65 billion stock buyout to again operate as a private entity. I have enjoyed multiple roles and gained much experience during my years with the company as it evolved…both small and international, independent and as a subsidiary, private and public.
