Fish Husbandry and System Maintenance – Prairie AquaTech, Brookings, SD

(Summer 2015)

·         Operated safely and efficiently while adhering to strict biosecurity measures

·         Fed fish twice daily in a timely and precise manner, and conducted pellet counts as needed

·         Used various techniques to measure growth performance, immunological health, and general health for a variety of fish species

·         Knowledge and handling of a variety of marine and freshwater fish species

·         Knowledge of recirculating system engineering and operation

·         Assisted in collecting fish diets using gastric lavage

·         Collected and aged hard parts for fishes of various ages

·         Clearly and concisely communicated scientific processes and theories to stakeholders

·         Marked fish for scientific research through tagging and fin clipping
